Friday, August 31st
We're here in June Lake, home to four mountain lakes: June
Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake and Grant Lake, and at an elevation of 7654 feet.
We're staying at Gull Lake Lodge for a few days, and getting ready for the start of our Eastern Sierras Escape. Bit hard breathing as we get used to altitude....
A short walk from our lodge.
It's a romantic Alpine village with every turn a stunning view and much to offer. Mornings start at a temperature around 48 degrees reaching up to the low 70s. Nice.
Another view of Gull Lake. If you want to get away from it all, this is your place. Tomorrow, we'll be meeting up with Guy, David, and Steve to bike Tioga Pass into Yosemite. More cyclists will join us later when we go to Mammoth Lakes and Bishop. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the quiet.
